First-class work in graveyard

• HAVING daily watched the restoration of the old wall at St Mary’s Churchyard I am astonished by the amount of criticism levelled at AJ Cornish Ltd, the contractors carrying out the work (Building firm told: Carry on in the graveyard, May 21).

 
Since March, pains­taking reconstruction work on the wall has started at 8am.
It was unavoidable that some buried and out-of-sight gravestones should get damaged.

Instead of carping, local residents should be grateful that AJ Cornish Ltd employ first-rate craftsmen, which is evident in the sections of the wall already finished.

This is a wall set to last for another few hundred years.
