Experience!

• IS KEITH Moffitt deluding himself when he bemoans a lack of experience on Camden’s new cabinet (Majority of Town Hall jobs go to women, May 20)?
Disregarding the fact that his right-wing coalition with the Tories was led by an all-white front bench totally unrepresentative of our diverse borough, five out of the eight cabinet appointments he made were freshers – that is, they had served on the council since 2006 or later.

Under Labour’s Nash Ali, only three out of 10  are newcomers to the Town Hall and of those one has run a parliamentary office, one is the party’s borough organiser and one is a former chief executive of the NGO Stonewall.
Perhaps it was the lack of experience in Keith’s line-up that led to them being brutally punished at the ballot box and losing 60 per cent of their seats.

Or perhaps this is simply an insight into what happens when so-called progressives con the electorate by jumping into bed with Conservatives.
