An estate loved more than it is loathed

Published: 27 May, 2010

• I LIVE on the Alexandra Road estate, Kilburn, and was lucky enough to be part of the documentary One below the Queen – Rowley Way Speaks for Itself screened at The Tricycle Cinema.
It was great to finally see our landmark estate depicted on film in such a positive light.

It brought a tear to my eye to hear Neave Brown speak so affectionately at the screening, about the scheme he completed 40 years ago as a young Camden architect.

I hope he realises that our estate is loved so much more  than it is loathed, is truly deserving of its Grade II* status and that we will continue to respect it and fight for it to be properly brought back to its former glory.
