Deprived areas losing out

• AT last attention has been drawn to the fact that Conservative and Liberal Democrat councillors have been “looking too closely over their shoulder at their electoral base”.
It does appear that money that should have been be allocated to schools as part of the government’s Primary Strategy for Change has been diverted into affluent wards – and the more affluent schools.
The whole process should be investigated and then maybe we will see the schools like Edith Neville, Rosary, St Dominic’s and Carlton receive the funding they so desperately need.
