Cosmetics!

• HERE are two images of the proposed World Peace Garden to be built on the railway embankment opposite the Magdala public house.
The first image (top) shows Jonathan Bergman’s cosmetically-enhanced advertisement, recently erected on the site.
A false impression is given by this image which includes a lush background of trees, certainly not those existing, in front of which is portrayed a delicate “Japanese” concoction of screens! 
By contrast, the second image clearly shows architect Richard Mitzman’s actual design, displaying the whole development including the intended public walkway and the 41-metre metal framework, supporting panels of multi-coloured tiles with “peace messages” and “vertical plantings”.
At present the site is covered with many wild flowers and plants and is a joy to behold, appreciated by many of us who pass it daily.
Why destroy the potential of this natural woodland garden with such a structure?
