Control

• LIKE many Camden Council tenants and leaseholders we thought it was fantastic that the first action of the newly elected Labour council was to end the sale of council homes in the borough.
At a time when affordable council housing is desperately needed, homes should never have been sold in the first place.
We were also pleased to see in the Labour manifesto that our caretaking services would be brought back under council control.
Since Veolia took over the cleaning of our estate, the cleaning of outside areas has got much worse – not surprising as we get one visit a week, from one cleaner.
Therefore we look forward to seeing the Labour council
members fulfil their manifesto pledge to bring caretaking and cleaning services back under the control of Camden.
