All dog-owners damned for sins of the minority

• I READ with interest Hugo Barnacle’s letter accusing all dog-owners of anti-social behaviour (Stupid dog-owners make killing of swan inevitable, May 20).
I find the idea of punishing all dog-owners for the transgressions of a minority interesting. Perhaps we can apply this in other areas of Heath use.

Hugo, I’m sure you’ll be happy to come to the Heath every morning to clear up the dangerous mess of broken glass and rotting food left by your idiot fellow Heath-users every day.

That would mean I can walk my nine-year-old greyhound without risking a badly cut paw each time we go for a walk. Thanks in advance!

• WE read Mr Hugo Barnacle’s anti-dog-owner tirade with a degree of concern.
While we grieve for the death of his beloved pen swan, our greater worry is that one of the many pooches on the Heath has bitten him (he must taste good) and he may have mad dog’s disease!
