Welsh fight

• I WAS very pleased to hear from my good friend, Nick Smith, former Camden Councillor, and Labour activist, that he has been selected to fight the  Welsh seat of Blaenau Gwent.
When I was a Camden (Labour) councillor and, indeed, before that I admired Nick Smith.
I knew he would eventually strike lucky as a sincere Welshman and a moderate Labour man, which appealed to me, as I felt, and still feel New Labour, which does not appeal to all your Labour readers.
Blaenau Gwent was formerly held by Michael Foot and later, was lost to the Welsh Nationalists.
Nick is determined to win it back for Labour.
