Save our night bus

• NOT only are Boris Johnson and the Tories putting up bus fares by 13 per cent and bus passes by 20 per cent, we in Highbury are also now set to lose the night service of the 236 bus. This runs through our neighbourhood en route between Hackney Wick and Finsbury Park.
With the Labour government’s plans to close the A&E at Whittington, we will have no direct bus access to an A&E in the evenings if Boris goes ahead with his plans to axe the 236 night service.
This is our only bus route to Homerton Hospital A&E, which Labour is expecting us to use. I hope your readers will join me in signing the petition I have set up at www.highburyeast.org.uk. Save our night service!
