Messy churchyard?

Published: 18th March 2010

• I WOULD not think that St Pancras Churchyard should be opened to public (Churchyard politics, March 11).
I also live in the parish and am aware that a massive amount of money is needed to restore the church, especially externally, to its former glory. Until pointed out, I thought those parked cars belonged to contractors.
If parking revenue contributes towards the cost of the maintenance of the church, it must be a good thing.
Nobody would like to see the churchyard ruined by litter, dogs’ mess, drug paraphernalia and so on.
I guess the church can’t afford a cleaner.
Meanwhile, I would love to suggest that the Quakers’ Friends House has a rose garden with benches, which is only a couple of hundred metres away from the church, and let us not forget Euston Square gardens (also with benches).
