Love Camden, hate being told about it
Published: 25th March 2010
• LIKE Mick Farrant (Letters, March 18), I was very disappointed and upset to find that the Love Camden booklet left out Gospel Oak and Queen’s Crescent.
I’ve lived here for many years and been lucky enough to have a good library and shops nearby in Queen’s Crescent and easy access to Hampstead Heath.
This council has ignored this area. Two years ago I tripped and fell on the pavement in Weedington Road next to the library and reported it. It has still not been repaired and looks like crazy paving now. Then I see the expensive “cosmetic” work being done in other areas.
The removal of the bus stop opposite Camden station and the narrowing of the road have been disastrous. Shoppers in Sainsbury’s have further to walk to the bus stop, crossing three streets and clogging up the street outside the Black Cap while vehicles have to park on the new pavement.
I have loved living in Camden. I don’t need this Lib Dem-Tory council to waste money telling me to.
