Let’s keep a united front
• FOR nearly three years we have been asking Islington PCT (now Islington NHS) to justify financially its decision to close Finsbury Health Centre. It made promises to do so.
In December 2008 it suddenly doubled the figure from £4million to £8million-plus. It has been behaving as if this new figure was justified. No detail costing has satisfied Islington Council Health and Wellbeing Review Committee. We may ask: where is the transparency in the actions of the outgoing PCT? The NHS is still very high in the world league of health services. It is important the community stays unified with health professionals to maintain the ideals and care that defines the NHS.
As a patient I commend a health centre of excellence. For those interested, contact www.savefhc.org.uk.
