Let’s have courage to demand the £283m we’re owed for homes

• ON Saturday, I went to a silly auction for sensible people.
Choice properties were on offer. I bought the town hall for two bob (10p) and a bag of chips. Very reasonable.
As a landlord responsible to his bank account I wish to fill it with bankers, non-doms, corrupt MPs and third world dictators.
I give notice to Camden councillors, senior officers and council directorates to vacate my property – asap. They could find a home for those on the waiting list, for Decent Homes. The blunt fact is that because tenants voted for an arms-length management organisation we have been financially blockaded. Our problem is the government – whatever colour it is. It does not reflect well on local politicians, indulging in silly point-scoring, that was highlighted in your article (Lib Dem: Why I was at anti-sell-off demo, March 11).
If thousands of people could demonstrate to save the Whittington Hospital, we could all turn out to get the money promised, that is, £283million. I would like our politicians to show some courage, and lead the people of Camden in the same way, as Lansbury did in the 1920s.
