Digitals lack the charm of a traditional clock

Published: 11 March 2010

• AFTER admiring the Old Victorian clocks on both the churches and some of the public houses, sadly left unattended and unserviced, it would be wonderful to see them all repainted and working again at the correct time.
A regular face to see every morning, making the towns come to life again, instead of letting these clocks lie dormant, after craftsmen have lovingly built them for all to enjoy. There are still some old clocks in the Underground stations working correctly – much more friendly faces to look at, although they could do with a clean.
We need some beautiful faces to look at from the past, in memory of the people who made them for everybody to enjoy.
Digital clocks do not have the same charm.
