Trauma of eviction bid

Published: 25 June, 2010

• IT is with disgust that I read about widow Elsie Sugerman being threatened with eviction over a gas check (You’ll be evicted, widow is warned, June 18).

I am 50 and disabled and was threatened with an eviction while on chemotheraphy, just on the word of a neighbour.

I am still suffering from the trauma of all this after five years. I am being treated by my GP over the fear of losing my beautiful home.

My many complaints in writing were ignored and my GP even had to telephone to find out why.

It appears that trained staff are trying to justify their own well-paid jobs, and the innocent must prove their innocence.

I am glad Elsie had someone to speak up for her. I had no one and it has ruined my life.
