It could be a different picture in term time!

• THE picture you printed of an artist’s impression of how the new Emmanuel School would look is typical of the way in which the project has been pursued by the interested parties (Property News, June 3). 

Yes, I’m sure that is how it would look at 6am on a Sunday morning! 

It is not how it would look on a weekday at 8.30am in term time. 

Mill Lane is gridlocked every day at that time and, despite what the school governors say, the doubling of Emmanuel School’s roll from 100 to 200 pupils promises utter traffic chaos.

One could only sit back in wonder at the idiocy of Camden’s planning committee as it voted unanimously to approve the development. 

Once again we see the complete lack of vision of our Town Hall mandarins who, rather than taking on the church and school governors and insisting on developing the Fortune Green site, have taken the easy option and condemned this part of West Hampstead’s community to complete misery.
