It’s about books

• IT was with sadness I read (Letters, June 3) that Paula Rundell is to be moved from her current role at Heath Library.
As a writer I have been fortunate enough to have had Paula on hand to help me source books and sympathise with me when I couldn’t find the translation of some obscure wartime memoir.
As a mother of three children, I have watched Paula inspire each of them – my youngest is four and has adored her Rhyme Time sessions – to read widely. I do not understand why a librarian of such calibre is being shifted to a job sorting books backstage and would urge anybody who wants to see their libraries filled with books rather than computers and dvds to support Paula. This is not a staffing issue. This is about books.
