Hands off Gaza cargo
Published: 4 June 2010
• ISLINTON Friends of Yibna (IFY) expresses its outrage at the callous Israeli attack on the flotilla of Human Rights Defenders en route to deliver humanitarian aid to besieged Gaza.
In massacring unarmed civilians, Israel demonstrated its contempt for human lives. IFY sends its condolences to the families and friends of the murdered and maimed.
We call on our government to withdraw its proposal to change British law, which effectively would give Israelis immunity from arrest for their responsibilities for this and other war crimes.
IFY asks the British government to demand that Israel does not interfere with the MV Rachel Corrie cargo now en route to bring aid to Gaza.
Without international pressure, Israeli forces would attack this cargo ship, bringing cement, paper and medical equipment prevented from being delivered by land to Gaza.
IFY sent on board art materials for Yibna Artists Forum.
These are not allowed by Israel, which wants to destroy the Palestinians physically and culturally.
IFY will discuss the situation in Gaza with Andrea Becker, head of advocacy at Medical Aid for Palestinians, at 7.30pm on Monday. For details, contact 07880 731 865.
