Cuts recipe for disaster

• THE plans to slash staff numbers at stations around the Emirates Stadium are alarming to say the least.

Finsbury Park station is one of the busiest in London with about 160,000 passengers using it on a normal day. An undermanned station on days when thousands of football fans pour through the station is a recipe for disaster

We should be very wary of sacrificing passenger safety merely to cut costs. This is why I am seeking urgent answers from Transport for London this week. To ensure absolute passenger safety, especially on match days, we need more staff, not fewer.
