The colourful life of Soho

Published: 25 June, 2010

• WHILE Soho is bereft of much greenery it does have many colourful residents and Sebastian Horsley was one.

The Soho Theatre is currently running a play about our late neighbour, Dandy in the Underworld, and it’s so sad that our neighbour has passed away while his many exploits are being celebrated just up the road in Dean Street.

After a great effort and various trials and tribulations our small residents’ association has managed to organise a hanging baskets scheme for parts of Soho.

Let’s hope that once these baskets are installed they remind us all about Sebastian’s colourful life and stand in his memory.

We would like to thank those who have made this scheme possible: the council’s West End ward budget and 50 per cent hanging basket scheme, the residents who have contributed, and specially Ken and Barbara Follett, the Dean Street Townhouse, Soho Estates and the ward councillors.
