Child tax credit dates

• THERE is to be a review of the child tax credit system.

I have just received a final notice stating that my daughter’s portion will not be paid from August 30.

Then I remembered a very nice woman from Tax Credit had assured me it would continue.

I rang an 0845 number and was told I would have to answer security questions.

The questions were very simple and I was told they would be my future passwords and never to forget them.

I was informed that my daughter’s portion would cease on August 30, but it would begin again in September. 

They couldn’t put this in the letter because the system didn’t allow for it.

The system only allowed them to tell me the money would cease. 

So my advice to everyone having to use this system is to check, copy and log everything. 

And those of you given the same information as me watch September and be ready to pounce.
