Budgeting for austerity
Published: 24 June, 2010
• THE new government has already begun to impose austerity.
Yet millions are unemployed; millions are “economically inactive”; machines, land and sea are plentifully available: but poverty is set to increase despite all these available resources.
The austerity will impose is one which will perpetuate the unequal access to wealth and resources.
The only way to fight the imposition of poverty is to put an end to the wages system itself and replace it with the free association of producers.
