What’s next?

• AS predicted the coalition government have finally put the boot into Camden Council and other authorities with severe cuts to funding.

We accept times are hard and that reasonable cut-backs need to be made, but let’s start at the top by reducing some of the large, ridiculous, wages Camden pay to senior management teams and consultants.

Reinforce and maintain the essential services the elderly, housebound and disabled depend upon.

Camden stand there with their hand out complaining of how broke they are but still expect residents to pay their rent and community charge, yet I continue to get less for my money; first the caretakers and now the likelihood of a once-a-week refuse collection.

The thought of this overwhelms me with the prospect of rodent infestation and the foul stench to go with it.

What’s next in your lucky dip bag of cost cutting ventures?

The Labour administration should show caution on several key points in any decision-making when deciding cuts.

Any proposals should made in joint consultation with trade unions and the people of the borough direct.
