Tower block fears

• ON Tuesday there was a large meeting in the community centre in Belsize Road to examine plans for the regeneration of the Abbey area.

After two hours of heated discussion a vote was taken to accept one of the three plans. But they were all rejected, and almost unanimously.

The idea of another tower block on the opposite side of Abbey Road was the worst aspect of the unimaginative planning.

The overcrowding of the area can only be imagined.
