Shambles on the road
Published: 8 July, 2010
• SINCE 1972 I have witnessed a succession of shambolic road works near the Iverson Road junction, but the present works in West End Lane are far and away the most disorganised.
Most of the time nobody does anything all.
Occasionally there is a token attendance by three or four workmen.
Judging by my eyes and nose the pollution caused by stationary cars at the temporary lights exceeds legal emission limits.
Thousands of pedestrians are affected by this hazard every day.
