Our debt to volunteers

• FOUNDED in 1913, the Manor Gardens Welfare Trust has a long and proud tradition of providing support to those most in need of help.
With more than 200 people giving their time and skills, the Manor Gardens Centre is able to provide a befriending service for isolated older people, a service to give family carers a break from their caring responsibilities, a friendship phone network for housebound older people, support to people having had a stroke or with long-term heart conditions.
We also run a pre-school nursery, provide a health advocacy service for newly-arrived communities, and encourage healthy eating and activities helping to maintain good mental wellbeing.
Without our volunteers all of this simply would not be possible.
It can be all too easy to forget that people want to do what they can to help others less fortunate than themselves and want to do this in a way that really makes a difference.
