Old days?

• HOW depressing to see that, barely three months into office, Labour are ditching promises they made on the campaign trail in King’s Cross (Labour U-turn over ‘vanity project’, July 22).
When there was an election in the offing, Frank Dobson and Councillor Jonathan Simpson were quick to slate the office project; will they be standing firm and doing the same now Labour colleagues are in charge?
Last time Labour ran the council, local people got used to being ignored.
The Liberal Democrats introduced local area forums specifically to make sure the Town Hall couldn’t ride roughshod over people’s views.
These meetings haven’t been heard of since May.
Sadly it looks like we’re back to the old days where Labour steams ahead promising one thing, doing the opposite and ignoring anyone who disagrees.
