It didn’t take long for Labour to go back on sell-off promise

• SO, it took all of 10 weeks for Camden’s Labour councillors to be revealed…

Last week they went back on their election promise not to sell off any more council homes by voting to sell off 17 homes on the Holly Lodge estate.

Head of housing Councillor Julian Fulbrook had previously called selling off council homes immoral.

Yet he was able to recommend the sale of almost half of the Holly Lodge council homes on the open market at last week’s cabinet meeting, without blushing or batting an eyelid.

Camden’s Labour councillors won their seats by promising to do up shoddy council homes while not selling off any more council homes.

The Holly Lodge decision shows that this central election commitment was no more than a lie. Those who voted for them have been well and truly conned.
