Homes in need of care
Published: 2 July, 2010
• WHEN One Housing Group took control of Patchwork Community Housing Association in 2005, it said there would be little change (Fury over ‘unwanted’ care home to be sold at auction, June 25).
Now we know different.
From a volunteer board elected by shareholders to a board that is self-appointed and paid.
They have systematically failed to help disabled people in Islington and instead decommission their homes.
Remember the Purley Place fiasco? Now it wants to sell off the home in Kiver Road.
These homes should be taken away from One Housing and given to a housing association that genuinely cares for its residents.
