Homeopathy hospital is vital
Published: 22 July, 2010
• LIKE others who have already written to you (Medicine, not witchcraft! July 8), we are horrified that the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital’s future may be under threat.
We are also shocked at the ignorant and arrogant tone of the discussion about homeopathy at the recent BMA conference.
A letter you published (July 15) suggests that those writing to you saying they have been helped by homeopathy are a handful of people who are “sadly deluded”.
We are asked not to “deny the science”.
There is a wealth of evidence out there from patients reporting that they have been helped by homeopathy.
For a number of people in our group, homeopathy and the other complementary therapies from the RLHH provide a vital lifeline: helping them to manage chronic illnesses and when normal medication produces severe side effects.
We want complementary therapies to be available on the NHS alongside conventional medicine, working together.
The NHS needs to listen to patients.
People in Camden can’t afford to lose the RLHH service.
