Enlighten us about all this money

•AS a longstanding, indigenous, taxpaying, resident I have been racking my brains to discover what benefits exactly are attributable to a lady called Moira Gibb.

Apparently, she is the chief executive of Camden Council, with an obscene salary of £199,960 – and now with a bonus of £15,997.

Perhaps the council leader can enlighten me?

No doubt, he can also explain to me that, in spite of “an £80million funding debt”, the council advertised 40 jobs on very good salaries, for example, a “Communications Officer”, to ensure the council tells its residents what services are available – salary up to £37,851.

Next, a “Senior Principal Committee Officer”, who would be paid up to £40,506 to help lead the council committee services team, in providing efficient and effective servicing of work, specified in the constitution.

Another job at up to £37,851, would be to support the director of housing and social care… and so on.

We must not forget however, that a year or two ago, the council decided to sack four Careline workers to save £100,000 a year – consequently – sourcing this most valuable service to some obscure, expensive, call centre.

Truly, Camden is regaining its old title of Looney Left!
