Defend our right to keep the Freedom Pass

• SO, (‘Cons-Dems’ plans to axe Freedom Pass, July 22). 

I hope this is just a rumour.

I could go on at great length about the benefits of being a grateful owner of a Freedom Pass but I hope there will be many others writing to defend our right to keep it. 

I just want to say that local doctors and mental health services would be inundated with pensioners and disabled people suffering from depression if this vital aid to getting about was taken away.
