We are voters, not Brussel sprouts - ward councillor Braithwaite's arrogant attitude

UNLIKE my ward councillor, Paul Braithwaite, I hardly write letters to be published in the Camden New Journal, but he has finally provoked me to put pen to paper.
His first letter which came to my attention more than a year ago caused me to lift an eyebrow when he wrote about my end of Kentish Town Road being the “seedy” end of his ward. How dare he? A local shopkeeper put him in his place the following week.
How does Braithwaite’s arrogant attitude as a ward councillor square with his campaign to be re-elected in May this year?
I am a 56-year-old mum and the number of times I have been screamed at by rude cyclists jumping red lights is astounding.
As the cyclists’ champion, Braithwaite should perhaps promote courtesy and politeness instead of busying himself with converting a “no traffic” pedestrian junction known as the “Billiard Table” into a dangerous cycle path crossing a major arterial route into central London.
I just cannot believe a local ward councillor is capable of being so distant from local people.
Best thing Braithwaite can do would be to get on his bike and chase those elusive sprouts out in Brussels.
Perhaps he would have a better affinity with them than he has been having with his constituents here in Cantelowes. Then again, I doubt if he could tell the difference!
