Maria Fernandez - cyclist death - Bike box education needed

THE tragic death of cyclist Maria Fernandez, which you reported last week, highlights the importance of drivers following road rules.
The “bike box”, the green rectangle painted on the road behind the advanced stop line, and before the line at which motor vehicles are supposed to halt, is not, as many drivers seem to suppose, a colourful piece of decoration.
It is there is ensure that cyclists can safely use intersections. Surely it is time for police in Camden and elsewhere to engage in some serious driver education on this subject?
