Loss of bus stop blow to the elderly

• THE bus stop opposite Camden Town Tube station, for buses towards Hampstead Heath, was removed several months ago.
This has a very negative impact on people travelling home from Camden Town to neighbouring areas. There is now a very long gap between the 24/168 bus stop lower down on Camden High Street and the next stop at Hartland Road.
People leaving Sainsbury’s have quite a walk to wait for the bus, and have to struggle with heavy shopping through crowded and recently icy slippery streets. This is particularly a concern for elderly people and those with young children. Efforts to clear pavements in Camden Town for pedestrians should bear in mind the public transport needs of local people.
Cars shouldn’t be the only means of access to local supermarkets for residents of Gospel Oak and Queen’s Crescent.
