In Harry Horne-Roberts' memory

• JENNIE and I thank everyone for coming to the funeral service for Harry Horne-Roberts. To see so many of Harry’s friends was a great comfort to us. Speaking to people afterwards, surrounded by Harry’s paintings, it was gratifying to learn of the love and affection with which he was regarded.
The service itself was beautifully conducted by the Reverend Jonathan Trigg. Lucy Bartlett sang the Snowman’s song, a favourite of Harry’s, and the organist played the theme from Hercules, as we are sure Harry would have wished.
Looking ahead as we must, we draw comfort from the fact we have a beautiful daughter, and that Jennie will assist those like Harry and work for the Harrington Scheme and other charities. I will work to develop the www.trust-for-autism.org.uk charity which we set up to help those like Harry gain skills leading to a better quality of life and to employment. This last will be done through the Hoffmann Foundation for Autism charity and day centres. May I conclude, in the words of the poet Philip Larkin, by saying that we believe that “what will survive of us is love”.
