Day centre safe for old

• I AM writing about the article (One afternoon at a day centre. January 14).
The day centre mentioned in the article is nothing like the type that I know and visit.
I go to Age Concern Camden’s Hill-Wood centre in Euston, which is a safe environment for older people. You are well looked after during the period you are here. We sit together having a good lunch which is cooked on the premises, and we do activities such as relaxation, a reminiscence groups, a singing group and, on Fridays, you can be taken out shopping which is good as most  of us may not be able to do this.
We are given advice on how to keep warm and have enough food indoors in this bad weather.
People who are not so mobile can be collected from their homes. There is a nice atmosphere, the staff are cheerful and helpful. It’s great fun, especially for those of us who live on our own.
