Community minded? - Corner shop Christmas tree confiscation

I WRITE in support of Mehmet’s popular corner shop which is located opposite the Pineapple pub in Leverton Street in Kentish Town with regards to his Christmas trees which were confiscated by Camden Council before the holiday for being displayed on the pavement.
I have since visited Mehmet and am pleased that Camden Council eventually returned his Christmas trees.
However, the letter attached to the trees from the Camden officer was disappointing to say the least.
It threatens Mehmet with legal action should he put his Christmas trees on the pavement again.
I would have thought this over-reaction by Camden is not in the spirit of the season in these hard times when people are trying to cheer up spirits.
At these times such overspills onto pavements are part of the joyful fun creating a community spirit.
