We stay on the buses

COUNCILLOR Janet Burgess is right when she says the Freedom Pass is protected, but only if Labour wins the next General Election (Freedom Pass is safe, January 29). Cutting it is just the sort of gesture an incoming Tory or Tory/Liberal coalition government would make to show they are “doing something”.

Since Tory-voting pensioners will vote Conservative until hell freezes over, it would be a fairly safe move politically.

However, if they think that I and thousands of like-minded pensioners, who get almost the lowest pensions in the Euro-Union, are ever going to pay bus fares again, they can think on.

Surely no driver is going to make a fool of themselves trying to throw a pensioner off their bus.
