Showpiece for the rich

• It is bad enough that the beautiful property known as Beechwood, has gone to one of the excessively rich, but that an underground level could even be considered in the area of Hampstead is truly horrifying. 

Is there no end to the waiving of regulations when it comes to the wealthy? 

This building should certainly be restored, but why not for some much- needed public purpose like a care home or a place for children in need of care? Anything but another showpiece for some rich person and their ego.
