Safety a top concern

• IMPROVING community safety and tackling anti-social behaviour is one of the top concerns of residents in Westminster.

This comes over loud and clear whenever we speak to residents face-to-face and through the letters and emails we get from people, from Pimlico to Paddington.

Yet, there will be around 14 fewer police on the beat in Westminster following Boris Johnson’s decision to cut 455 police from the Metropolitan Police over the next two years.

And this comes on top of the 60 City Guardian and City Inspectors who are to be sacked by Westminster City Council.

Do the Conservatives understand what people are saying?

Like their decision to spend £23,000 on a civic banquet and dramatically increase parking charges, Westminster Conservatives are totally out of touch with the real world.

It’s definitely a time for a change at City Hall!
