• I WAS surprised to read in Barry Hill’s letter that he thought Aquaterra Leisure was not consulted by Islington Council about the time frames for improvement work to Sobell Leisure Centre (Beware, the wrecking ball is still hanging over Sobell, January 29). 

This is not correct. Major refurbishments take months to plan and we have been fully involved, as always, from the start. Islington Council informed customers of the works through the magazine for residents, Islington Now, flyers and website www.islington.gov.uk, and Aquaterra through our customer newsletter and website www.aquaterra.org. The new ice rink is being installed and is looking great. We’re looking forward to reopening this popular facility.
