Freedom pass reality

Published: 11 February 2010

• IN response to Councillor Martin Davies’s letter (February 4) on freedom passes issued by Camden, I applied for my pass on January 11, having turned 60 in December.

I queued for an hour at Judd Street to hand my form in and to be given a receipt.

I am still without my pass (February 5). I phoned the department  to be told I might have to wait a further month as they are “overwhelmed” by the response and they can’t process them quickly enough.

It’s Cllr Davies’s letter that is “misleading”. The reality is we are having to wait and still having to pay for transport that under the previous system would have been provided free to us.

I am very disappointed that he could not admit that there is a problem.
