Fares rise cover-up?

• THE swingeing increases in transport fares need to be commented on. A weekly bus pass has gone up from £13.80 to £16.60 and a monthly from £53 to £63.80. The single Oyster fare on a bus has gone up from £1 to £1.20, an increase of 20 per cent.

Unlike previous years, there has been no updates leaflet on these revised fares in Underground stations.

I was informed by a ticket clerk this is due to environmental reasons. It was therefore impossible to check out the new fares.
