Confused on record?

• COUNCILLOR Jonathan Simpson’s assertion that he would not work with a political party that sold off council houses is quite extraordinary (Clegg’s caution on coalition, February 18).
He is clearly a somewhat confused individual. He is ignoring the fact that his own Labour government has sold off about 5,000 Camden homes since it came to power and continues to do so.
The Labour council in their last six years running Camden also sold off over 600 properties in their own name.
Despite its electioneering promises the Labour government refused to release the promised £283million to maintain Camden’s council properties or build new ones.
Furthermore this government has continued Margaret Thatcher’s right-to-buy policy thus destroying any right to call itself the party of council and would-be council tenants.
