Banking on Cablevision

• IT was inspiring to meet Vince Cable with our local Lib Dem parliamentary candidate Bridget Fox last week, when he came to visit business people. He provided valuable insight into the economy and it was a pity not to see more about this in the Tribune.  

As Lib Dem Shadow Chancellor, Vince Cable was the only senior politician to see the current financial mess coming and speak out early. He is the only Treasury spokesman among the main parties who, with a lifetime’s experience working in the real economy, would have the courage and judgement to focus government on sound, new polices to help protect us from the banks, which have helped themselves to our money for far too long.  

I want to see Ms Fox elected in Islington South, helping the Lib Dems get the chance to hold the balance of power and rescue us from yet another decade of tired Labour-Tory politics.
