Abuse costs us dear

• YOUR front page (Bonanza at expense of taxpayers, February 18) highlights abusive profit taking at our expense.
Unfortunately it may be that this practice has a “double whammy” effect; it enables housing associations to follow suit without embarrassment.
At a large auction recently, Paddington Churches Housing Association, a legend in these parts for its behaviour, just before the auction, appears to have withdrawn many flats in Westminster but not those in Camden.
My understanding is that Westminster are not behaving like Camden and therefore could tell PCHA to stop bleeding the borough of social housing. If this is so, then how can Camden do the same without being accused of hypocrisy?
For every flat Camden sells, we lose about two homes.
