We showed true grit

• WE are always ready to blame councils which are not ready for snow. 

I cannot speak for the whole borough, but as I walked around Islington on the school run on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, I noticed grit everywhere I went, put down from very early in the morning. Our school saw no need to close. 

As I walked around Islington during the day, I saw council workers carrying out their cleaning work as if we had snow in London every day of the week.

So, on this occasion, well done to Islington Council and everyone who works to keep it running smoothly when it snows
