Threat to a vital lifeline

• THE government is to remove the mobility component of disability living allowance for people in residential care. 

As an unintended consequence of this, many people with a learning disability will no longer be able to go out and meet friends and families. 

Without this vital lifeline, many people in residential care will lose much of their independence.
