No charity with parking!
Published: 30th December, 2010
• I HAVE had three penalty charge notices (PCNs) wrongly issued against me in the past two months while dropping off donations to charity shops on the southern end of Camden High Street .
On all three occasions, while unloading several large dustbin sacks and boxes of donations, I have been legally parked in a recognised loading bay, within allowed loading times, yet still received a PCN by post of £120 (or £60 if paid within 21 days) .
The manager of one of these charity shops told this was happening with alarming regularity.
It concerns me that other well-meaning people who receive tickets in similar circumstances might be put off making donations to these charities, namely Oxfam, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research, Help the Aged, YMCA & Scope UK.
I would implore anybody who receives a ticket not to pay it but to appeal against them to: enquiries@tflcroydon.co.uk
This is the only way to stop this illegal taxation.
